To celebrate Louis Vuitton’s 20thanniversary in China, the luxury label opened an exhibit cataloging the art of travel at the National Museum of China in Beijing. The Louis Vuitton Voyages exhibition created international and local buzz about the brand’s contributions to history and art by retracing the fashion house’s crowning moments since it was established in 1854.
The GC team demonstrated the exhibit’s local relevance by partnering with Chinese contemporary artist Zhan Wang. His Big Bang video installation invited visitors to discard conventional bearings with voyages through the past, present and future.
The team immersed international media in Chinese local culture to give them an understanding of why the Chinese market is so important for luxury retail to invest in and to set the stage for Zhan Wang’s video installation. Media were invited to interview Louis Vuitton executives on the brand’s growth in the Chinese market and participate in a preview of the exhibit. One thousand guests, including 20 Chinese celebrities, joined a celebratory after party.
The NA team recently helped Pantene announce actress Zooey Deschanel as its new Beautiful Lengths celebrity ambassador during a breakfast for beauty editors and bloggers. Pantene Celebrity Hair Stylist and Global Ambassador Danilo was also in attendance to speak about the collection and how he styled Zooey’s hair prior to the event. Attendees were thrilled to see Zooey as the newest face of Pantene and were excited about the Pantene Beautiful Lengths (PBL) relaunch.
Following the breakfast, Pantene hosted the first National Donate Your Hair Day (NDYHD) event benefiting the PBL program in partnership with Seventeen magazine. The team generated national buzz and excitement for the day, encouraging men and women to cut and donate their hair to the PBL program.
The Rita Hazan Salon in New York was bustling with numerous hair donation appointments from consumers who wanted to cut and donate their hair. Donators were also encouraged to take before and after photos with a branded digital photo booth that printed their photos instantly. Pantene Celebrity Hair Stylists Danilo and Tippi Shorter were present to lend their styling skills. Zooey Deschanel made an appearance at the salon and surprised one of the hair donors by cutting her ponytail.
The New York event was quite a success, allowing Pantene to collect more than 50 ponytails that will be donated to the PBL program. In addition to the New York event, salons nationwide participated by hosting their own events and offering discounted or free haircuts to those donating on this day.
